Notes in the Cell Phone 8

She gently tapped her little sister’s nose, eliciting giggles and squeals of delight. She smiled gently, and retracted that delicate finger. Her softly narrowed eyes spoke of the sighs she held inside. Eyes just like Hazuki’s. She sat quietly on the broad arm of the sofa. Pulling her knees to her chest, she watched her little sister’s doll game, complete with the running commentary of a young child’s imagination. Strangely, it was her boredom that commanded attention. The silence she maintained in the face of her smaller counterpart’s ongoing soliloquy. And yet she seemed content… in the boredom that, in her quiet acceptance, became tranquility.
